Well done Andy!

22/10/09: Many congratulations to AFC's Andy Morris, who was recently called up by the Redhill & District Sunday League for their Representative Team. It's a tremendous honour for the whole of Hamsey Rangers and bearing in mind AFC are a 2nd Division team it makes Andy's call up all the more note-worthy.

Congratulations again to Andy on his achievement.

Careful Parking Please!

15/10/09: Just to remind all our players, parents and supporters to please observe the parking restrictions in force around John Fisher and neighbouring clubs on Sundays. It's extremely important for us to co-exist peacefully with local residents and other clubs in the area, to ensure that emergency services can access the ground when required and to generally allow traffic to flow unimpeded along Limpsfield Road.

Thank You.

Well done to everyone involved with the team.

This title win takes our total for the season to 6 - a club record!

Sunday Round Up

17/5/09: Congratulations to our Under 14 District and Under 11 teams, who both clinched their divisional titles today with convincing away victories. Andy Walker's Under 14's won 4-0 against Orpington, hitting the 100 goal mark for the season in the process, while Mick Leech's Under 11's won their double header against Coney Hall 3-0 and 6-1 to take the number of divisional title winners at the club to 5 so far for the season. Well done to Andy, Mick and their teams!

Still on the title trail, Graeme Ley's Under 15 B's need 3 points from their double header against New Beckenham next Sunday to secure the E Division championship after a superb 3-1 win against leaders Thornton Athletic.

Meanwhile, commiserations to our Under 14 B's, who narrowly missed out on promotion after sharing the points in their double header against Old Coulsdon Colts. Neil Hammond's League Shield Winners finished an agonising point short of second place.

Dates for your Diary

11/5/09: A reminder that the Hamsey AGM is this Sunday at 4pm at John Fisher. Then, our popular Presentation Night is on Saturday 27th June at Warlingham School - doors open at 4.30pm for a 5.30pm start. Afterwards it's all back to JF to celebrate what's been overall a fantastic season for the club. See you there (Mine's a pint - Ed).

Thank You, says Ralph

11/5/09: Under 17 A manager Ralph Makison today paid tribute to his team's supporters the day after winning the C Division title. "I would like to thank all the friends and family that travelled down to Sevenoaks on Sunday," said Ralph. "We had great support and they showed great appreciation for a great game. We were the away team, but you would have thought we were the home team, the support was that good. A big THANK YOU to them all, and WELL DONE to the lads (also the 2 lads from the team who couldn't make the game)."

Mixed Fortunes on Super Sunday for U14A's

10/5/09: Congratulations to Mike Robertson's Under 14 A's, who retained the A Division title without kicking a ball as rivals Selsdon Juniors dropped points in their quest to overtake our boys at the top of the table. Well done to all involved with the team on their "Threepeat" from everyone at the Club.

On the down side, however, AFC Wimbledon (15 months unbeaten, it should be said) proved just too strong in the Surrey Cup Final, where a single goal was enough to send our boys to defeat. The match itself was an excellent advertisement for U14 Football and AFC Wimbledon have since commended the Hamsey players and coaches on playing the game in the right spirit and on being a credit to our Club. Congratulations to the team on reaching the Final - no doubt Mike and coach Trevor are already planning their revenge for next season! Match Report.

Sunday Round Up

10/5/09: Congratulations to Ralph Makison's Under 17 A's, who are Champions of the C Division following a 4-2 win at rivals Sevenoaks. Well done to everyone involved, especially to Ralph himself, who took over the team from Phil "Mr Hamsey" Edmonds at the end of last season.

Well done, too, to Jeff Barretto's AFC Hamsey, who have secured back to back promotions as runners up in the Redhill and District 3rd Division after the chasing pack all dropped points on the final day of the season, and to Mick Leech's Under 11's, who clinched promotion in fine style with a thumping 10-4 win at rivals Stanhope - 2 more wins in a Coney Hall double header next Sunday for the D Division title as they passed the 100 league goal mark for the season.

Elsewhere, Graeme Ley's Under 15 B's remain on course for promotion following a 6-2 win at Balgowan - they need 4 points from their final 3 games to secure runners up spot in the E Division.

In the Under 14 age group, while the A's were celebrating retaining their A Division title, Neil Hammond's B's lost 3-1 at Champions Surf, but remain 5 points from promotion with now 3 games left. Meanwhile, Andy Walker's already promoted District team drew 4-4 away to Chislehurst Wanderers and can now secure the South Division title with a win against Orpington next Sunday.

Many congratulations to our Under 10 B's, who secured their C Division status with a 2-1 win at Palace Guard, to the Under 15 A's, who secured maximum points from their Oxted double header to retain their A Division status, and to the Under 14 Wildcats, who signed off their season in fine style with a massive 15-3 win against Byfleet Scorpions!

U14A's aiming for a slice of History

7/5/09: Top match involving our teams this weekend sees Mike Robertson and Trevor Smith take the Under 14A's to Chipstead to face AFC Wimbledon in the Final of the Surrey Cup. Kick off on Sunday is 11.00am as the boys look to make it 4 Cup Wins for the club this season. Hope to see as many of you there as possible to cheer the lads on to only our second ever Surrey Cup win!

Notice of AGM

5/5/09: All parents and managers are invited to our AGM, which will be held at John Fisher on Sunday 17th May at 4pm.
