Under 13 A's retain their title!
4/5/08: Mike Robertson's Under 13's retained their A Division title when nearest challengers Oakwood lost their crucial game against Croydon Junior. Croydon are the only team who can catch them on points, but Hamsey's better head to head record against them means they can't be overtaken. Well done to Mike, Trevor and the Lads for another piece of Hamsey Rangers history!

Club Announcement
1/4/08: Hamsey Rangers FC wish to announce a buyout which will see approximately £10m of funding coming into the club, with the aim of taking us into the Football League within the next 5-10 years.
The freehold of the John Fisher Sports Ground is being purchased by Russian oil magnate, Mr Vladimir Durakov, who has also agreed to appoint his own management team to take over the running of the club with immediate effect. Construction of a new 10,000 seater stadium at John Fisher, to be called the Durakov Den, will commence immediately, meaning that all home fixtures for the rest of this season are to be moved to Purley Way.
Kevin Henry, the current chairman of Hamsey Rangers, hopes the club's many players, supporters and volunteer helpers will understand the club's decision in accepting Mr Durakov's funding - "I know this will come as a shock to many, but we hope this announcement will be taken in the right spirit," said Mr Henry.

Tight at the Top!
30/3/08: The race for the 18 Division Title is going right to the wire following our 2-2 draw against Coulsdon. With a depleted squad and down to 10 men following Craig Fosset's injury on the stroke of Half Time, we were chasing the game at 2-1 down. But with 10 minutes left, a Simon Lidbury free kick was met by Neil Fleming to salvage a brave point. With three massive games to go with two of our fellow title contenders to play it's going to be very tight. Good luck to Jim Weeks and the Lads!

Un-B-lievable!
16/3/08: Mick Leech's Under 10 B's today took a massive step towards promotion from the West Division with a 4-1 win over fellow title contenders Coulsdon Athletic at a wet and windy John Fisher. With 5 games left to play, and with games in hand over all their rivals, 3rd place B's know that both promotion and the West Division title are within reach.

Up for the Cup!
9/3/08: Congratulations to our Under 11 A's, who today reached the Final of the Surrey Cup following a 2-0 against Wallington Wanderers. They now play AFC Wimbledon at Redhill FC on 13th April. Coach Cliff Baxter paid his own tribute: "The team have done Hamsey Rangers, the Tandridge League and above all else, themselves very proud. To reach the final of the Surrey Cup is a great achievement in itself. To beat excellent opposition along the way through skill and determination illustrates what a fine bunch of players we have."
