Under 13
The seeds of the current Under 13 team were sown in 2004 when the squad came together to compete in the Under 8 age group. The team continue to be coached by UEFA 'B' qualified coach Cliff Baxter who has experience of working in football development centres at Wimbledon (before the move to
Milton Keynes) and Chelsea. Cliff is supported in coaching by Martin Fuller, another FA qualified coach. The team benefit from having a dedicated team manager in Julian Hanford.
In their first competitive season as Under 9 players the team won the Tandridge League B Division and were victorious in the League Shield Final. Having won promotion to the Tandridge League A Division they consolidated their position before recruiting a few more players in order to compete in the Under 11 A Division at eleven-a-side.
In 2007-08 we reached
the Final of the Surrey Cup, an achievement of which the whole club was justifiably proud, and finished a very creditable 4th in the League. Last season we surpassed ourselves by winning the "Double" of A Division title and League Cup.
On the squad's "Double" success, Coach Cliff Baxter said, "These are a great bunch of lads with supportive parents. Having reached the Surrey Cup Final and finishing fourth in the A Division last year expectations were high but for the players to win the League and Cup double is an unbelievable and fantastic achievement - particularly considering we lost three of our first five matches. I have always said that the structure that we have in place - one dedicated manager, one assistant manager (who is also a qualified coach) and a qualified coach - gives the best possible environment for the boys to play and learn. This, together with the opportunity to play in a friendly atmosphere, has meant that we are able to attract very good players to the team. This season's achievements are just reward for the efforts and support of one big team consisting of the players, their families and the management team. Well done everyone!"
